Privacy Policy

Effective June 6, 2026

Fingerhut Law (“the firm,” “we,” or “us”) respects the privacy of every visitor to this website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through fingerhutlawgroup.com, how we use it, and the choices available to you. Fingerhut Law is a DBA of The Fingerhut Law Group, PLLC, a New York professional limited liability company.

Information you provide

When you submit the contact form on this site, you provide us with your name, email address, phone number, and a short description of your matter. You may also provide additional information if you email or call the firm directly. We treat any information you send us about your legal situation as confidential — but please note that submitting an inquiry through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship. See our Legal Notices for details.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs standard request information such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps. This information is used for security, fraud prevention, and basic site reliability. We do not currently run third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking pixels on this site.

How we use the information

Information you submit is used only to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether the firm can assist you
  • Run a conflict-of-interest check before any consultation
  • Communicate with you about your matter once representation begins, if applicable
  • Comply with our legal, regulatory, and professional-responsibility obligations as New York and New Jersey attorneys

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with marketing partners. No mobile opt-in or text message consent will be shared with 3rd parties or affiliates.

SMS terms

If you consent to receive conversational and informational text messages from Fingerhut Law, you agree to receive appointment reminders, case status updates, and replies to inquiries you have initiated from us.

  • Reply STOP to opt out; reply HELP for support
  • Message and data rates may apply
  • Messaging frequency may vary

Service providers

We use a small number of vendors to operate the site and the firm’s communications. Each vendor receives only the information necessary to provide its service:

  • Netlify — website hosting and basic request logging
  • Formspree — secure delivery of contact-form submissions to the firm’s email
  • Google Workspace — the firm’s professional email (steven@fingerhutlawgroup.com) and calendar

These providers operate under their own privacy and security commitments.

How long we keep your information

Contact-form submissions are retained for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and, where representation is declined, for a limited period thereafter consistent with the firm’s professional record-keeping obligations. If the firm represents you, your matter file is retained in accordance with New York and New Jersey ethics rules governing attorney recordkeeping.

Security

The firm maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information you provide, consistent with New York’s SHIELD Act and applicable New Jersey law. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may at any time:

  • Ask what information we hold about you
  • Request that we correct or delete information you previously submitted
  • Decline to provide information — though doing so may prevent the firm from evaluating your matter

New Jersey and New York residents may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws. To exercise any of these rights, contact the firm using the information below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

Children

This website is not directed to children under sixteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective” date above will be revised when material changes are made. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
